Moving folders from one drive to another

After installing a new MOBO and doing a fresh XP install on a formatted HD, I've moved many folders from one of my HD's to the formatted one by right clicking Start, clicking Explore, and dragging and dropping files and programs from one drive to another. My question is, now that I have my files and programs on the drive I want, how do I make them appear in Start-All Programs? Then how do I make Icons for my screen?

    Thanks

The programs will not run. You cannot drag-n-drop programs from the hard drive they were installed on to another drive. When a program is installed, it creates it's own library of dependent files and puts them all over the place on the hard drive: some will be in Program Files, some will be in Windows, some will be in Windows\System32, some will be Documents and Settings\ Administrator\ Application Data some will be in Documents and Settings\Default User\ Local Settings\Application Data\ and the list goes on and on and many of these Application Data and Local Settings folders are hidden. It is basically impossible to round up each individual file and put it back where it belongs for each program. It's a huge (and un-doable) task. You must re-install any programs you want to use on the new hard drive. Documents (like Word docs, and pictures, and music) will transfer just fine. But the programs you created the documents with must be reloaded....
