moving itunes library

itunes insists on putting the library in my documents which iI cannot do because of server issues. I have followed (at least I thought) all of the apple instructions on how to relocate the library and it keeps recreating itself in my documents.

 

I've been having fun and games with my iPod tracks.

This may help you:

1. Start iTunes
2. Click on Edit--->Preferences
3. Up will pop iTunes
4. Click on Advanced
5. You can change your iTunes Folder there.
I haven't tried it, but it says you can change Folders.
6. I now have my music in C:\My Music (as a suggestion to you) as it makes backing up my Library, using Acronis True Image v11, a lot easier.

7. You can also check out File--->Library--> Backup to Disc
and / or -->Export Library
and / or --->Export Playlist

I haven't tried any of this yet so can't vouch for their actions. Make sure you back up your music tracks somehow, before you start experimenting.

I've been able to successfuly move my music files out of my documents but the library keeps relocating itself in my documents even after being manually moved to another drive. It just recreates itself in my documents.
