    A power interruption occured at my house on July 26th. Everything survived except my favorite browser. Random connection failures occur when I try to open Firefox with the following message:

    "Unable to find server at www.mozilla.com"

    Should I un-install the browser and download from scratch? If I do this , all the bookmarks will be lost.

    BTW, the connection failures are random because I'm writing this on the Firefox browser.

    Hope another fix is avilable.
    My operating system is Windows XP Pro.

    Thanks for any help.
    Gene

    make sure you have the latest version.
    the failures may just be the internet going in and out.

    This sounds more like a connection problem rather than a Firefox problem. Do other internet applications work well, or is the problem only with Firefox?

    Just want to say: Thank You!....to all the respondants. The suggested fixes got the job done. Mozilla Firefox has been restored to health and is behaving itself nicely.
    Best regards,
    Gene

    You're welcome; but for the assistance of others who might have similar problems, could you say just what you did to fix it?

    The first recommended fix was 'clear the cache'. As soon as that action was performed, the browser happily went to work. I didn't go any farther because I embrace the 'if it ain't broke don't try to fix' mindset. To reach 'cache' go to: tools > options > privacy > cache.
    Let it suffice to say that I'm favorably impressed with the support offered on this forum.
    Hope this helps;
    Gene
