I need to crop some classical music pieces down to certain movements for my wife's school class, and I don't really know how to do this.

Does XP come with this facility, or WMP/Real Player?

If not, what's a good (free) program to use?

I can burn complete mp3s or WMAs onto CD or suchlike, but that's no good if you have to make 5 & 6 year old kids sit through 20 minutes of tedious violin pieces before they get to the big bang!!

    Any advice appreciated, as always.

    Cheers

Give Audacity a shot. A very good free music editing program:

Hope this software is exactly what you are looking for! Good luck!
