mp3 player.. but which one?

I'm taking a digital photo manipulation class this semester, and the macs we're using don't have cd burners. So the teacher suggested we all buy 256mb USB jump drives, but I figured I might as well kill two birds with one stone so to speak. I've been in the market for a mp3 player and I figured now's as good a time as any.

So.. I'm wanting to know what would be the best mp3 player that I could use to store pictures via USB so I could move them to and from the Macs in the lab and my PC at home.

 

Do the Macs in the lab have Firewire? (I bet they do)

iPod iPod iPod! Get the Apple iPod. Or the HP +Apple iPod. It is the same.

All you need for your PC at your house if you don't already have a Firewire port is an inexpensive Firewire PCI card.

the iPOD is great isn't it, but have you tried the iPOD mini? DON'T! mine broke, got it replaced and that one died too, the screen was weak on both of them. I've heard Creative make some good ones but never tried them. They don't require cables some of them, just pull apart and there's the usb!

 

apple hasnt fixed the battery issue on either pods... the one that after a year of operation the batteries power dies in half.

 

yeah, the lab macs have firewire..


I've heard about the ipod battery issue.. so is it still the best player even with the battery problems?

 

anyone? I know there's a lot of different players out there, what makes the iPOD so much better than the rest
