mp3 player i need help please

i need some help can someone tell me what i need to do ............. well i have Creative zen micro i don't know where my software is for this but when i first hooked it up it found new hardware but now it don't find it at all so can someone help please........ my other mp3 player did the same thang it is RCA Lyra RD1076B ............ can someone help please the last one is no longer on the market so the software or what ever i need to get them working and put more music on them but like i said it does not detect them so i can not put any song on there...

 

done that i just can not get it to come up on my computer.

 

Ok so basically what you are saying is that when you plug in the zen, windows no longer detects it ie it is not listed in 'My Computer' with a cooresponding drive letter. Is that correct?

1. Have you tried it in another usb port (remove any other usb devices plugged in to your comp to avoid any clash. Also make sure that you plug the zen directly into a usb port (in a back port if it's a desktop).

2. If the above yields no results, then go to the Device Manager and expand Universal Serial Bus Controller entry and 'uninstall' all the items listed (controller and host). When windows reboots it will detect the new hardware and install all the drivers again. Now retry the zen and see if that works.

3. If this has not worked, then you could try to connect the zen by way of using a 'powered' usb hub.

FYG I was recently trying to connect an external usb 2.5" hard drive and windows was not detecting it. I used another cable and presto it worked. This was strange as on another rig the 'faulty' cable worked fine. Go figure.
