Mpeg problem

    i have a movie in mpeg format (VCD used vcgear to convert cue and bin in mpg)
    i've found the subtitles of the movie (srt) and i'm trying to open it with BSplayer but when i open the mpeg file with the BSplayer there is no time i mean i can watch the video hear the sound but i don't know where is it what minute the time panel in the BSplayer remains at 00:00:000 and as a result the program cannot start the subs as it figures that the movie have never started ?!
    is there any solution/programm so i can repair that flaw of the mpeg file ?
