MS-DOS error - already tried all fixes

Hey guys -

I'm trying to install Adobe Photoshop 5.0 onto my Windows XP, SP1, machine.

I keep getting that MS-DOS error. I checked the archives and did the MS fix: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;324767. Also set the files to read-only before rebooting.

I've run all my scans: AVG, Ad-Aware, A2, Spybot, CCleaner and I run ZoneAlarm.

Then it dawned on me - I do NOT have my XP windows CD. New computer and they don't provide them anymore with computers. So, everytime I try to do the MS fix, I'm doing it without the CD in.

What am I supposed to do if these new computers don't come with the CD??

Any thoughts?
