Ms Home And Student Pinned Icon Gray

All pinned to desktop are blue but Word is gray. This is after the 20H1 update. I did a local and online repair which reinstalled it to no avail.
Sorry it is so small but Word is in the lower left corner in gray.

The color issue only applies to he word icon and nothing else. I tried DISM and SFC.

 

I think you'll find that that is now the color for the Word tile. It is also the same for One Note.

 

OneNote is fine.
Word has a problem.

 

not that i know anything about win10, because, honestly, i don't.
in that post, they talk about the chrome tile not being the desired color, but then editing the associated xml file for that tile to correct the tile color problem.
i was just thinking that the word tile would have an xml file somewhere that you could edit, to get it to the right color. but i would not know where to look for that. anyway, good luck with it.

 

This is an inconsistency in Windows product development. This is what to expect when you have a hundred teams working on different products within the same final product.

They are working to visually make everything more uniform ("Fluent Design") but not every program is up to date with the latest design standard. The color of the icon is probably further down the list of things to do but it will be fixed eventually.

Also be sure to go to Settings > Personalization > Colors to set your preferred theme. That will ensure that new updates will keep everything fluent but again not every app is up to date with fluent design.

I saw that the icon is so odd and different from all others it really does not blend in so figured there was something wrong.

All icons seem to have the same basic scheme in color and shape but this is way off.

Apparently, after finally seeing another like it in 2016, there is no problem in my 2019 Home and Student.
