MS June Updates

There were two updates that failed to install even after three attempts:

1) Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2 for x64-based Systems (KB2518870)

Update type: Important


2) Security Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 4 on Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows Server 2008, Windows Server 2008 R2 for x64-based Systems (KB2478663)

Update type: Important

Couldn't get much help from the MS links either so I have left them 'hidden' for the moment.


Another thing that puzzles me about MS Updates:
those for Windows Defender are marked as Important but those for Microsoft Security Essentials are only marked as Optional.
Surely, as both are intended for security software they should be 'Important'

Thanks David, but even using those links, they failed.
OS is win7 Home Premium 64bit.
I downloaded the .NET Framework 4 setup and ran the installer and it installed but trying the updates again produced a failure and the error code 0x80070643.
Went to MS Site and searched the code but the info is a bit 'laxed'.
The Fixit button showed but when I ran it, it said it was not for my system.

I have hidden the updates for now and will open them again sometime in the future to see if the work.

Still did not help.
Downloads failed again, so I am going to hide them and do nothing about it until maybe next month.
As MS know there was a problem, perhaps they will get it sorted for Update Tuesday July or possibly August.
