    During a recent clear-up, chasing malware, I appear to have damaged MS Net Framework and document viewer (they seem to be related) with the result that I now have 2 error messages which will not clear down. As I do not use Networking facility, would it be easier to get rid of it altogether ? If so, how can this best be achieved ?

    Ms net is a framework for developers to program apps, not a networking thing. You do more then likely need it, so just go to windows updates and it should come up as a download again, if not search ms's site for it.
