MS Office Outlook to Outlook Express

Last year to my employer announced we would be changing over from Lotus Notes to MS Office Outlook I decided to change over on my personal e-mail to learn the ropes prior to the company changed over. Now that I'm comfortable with it I would like to change my personal e-mail back to Outlook Express instead of MSOO.

Is this a simple task? I prefer not to lose my contacts and saved mail.

 

Hello, you did not say what versions of Outlook, so I'm guessing Outlook 2003 & Outlook Express 6-SP2

I am also assuming that your personal mail/contacts are not mixed in with your business.

I am also guessing that both Outlook Office & Outlook Exp. are on your home computer.

If above is not right, please clarify.

1st back up Outlook (just to be safe), http://support.microsoft.com/kb/238782

Then import Outlook mail & address book to Outlook Express.

It's pretty simple, mail you just Open Outlook Exp., File, Import Messages, contacts depends on your folders, explained in 2nd link.

There is also software that does this for you, but have not used in awhile, someone might know of a good free one.
