Big question. I am running Vista. Recently did a whole reinstall of all apps and everything was fine. Until dowloading the latest MS updates. Now, Outook gives the error message that it can't open the Outlook window. Just did a 'Repair" reinstall of MS Office 2007 but still have same error message.
Any idea if I can somehow fix this without having to completely remove Outlook, etc. and Reinstall the app from scratch?
    Thanks Very Much all.

    Hi MT

Just try this as it will hopefully start Outlook in safe mode, click Start and in the start seach box type outlook /safe and hit enter, if it does then disable any none microsoft add-ons http://office.microsoft.com/en-gb/outlook/HA100341271033.aspx#9 then if Outlook opens enable one at a time of the ones you disabled to find the cause.

Check in Windows Updates history what updates where just done, and then at top of that window is the link to how to uninstall them, make note of the ones that where udpated (the KB numbers)

Outlook 2007 gained an Junk Mail update, KB971933 which may cause this, the others I agained where the ActiveX killbits update, Publisher 200 update, and two security updates for Vista.

Just tried hyperlink to see if I could get into Outlook in safe mode but was not able to do that. Then I went to the WIndows updates and installed all updates installed for Outlook 2007 for yesterday. Still can't get in to Outlook. Any ideas on what to do next? Not sure how to open Outlook in safe mode.

Looks like it worse than I thought. I got to the point where windows asked if I wanted to start outlook in safe mode, but then that didn't work either -- just the same error message saying Outlook window didn't open. I really hope there is an alternative to removing the program, and then reinstalling, etc.

    Hi MT

goto Add/Remove and click Office and then click CHANGE and do a repair.

Thanks Halo. I have run into another snag. I clicked change, then repair, but at some point it hangs up and gives an error message that MS Bootstrapper has stopped working.
Not sure what Bootstrapper is. Any ideas?

Now I tried again, this time it said did not install correctly and that MS Installer quit working. Now I am really getting confused.
If I have to I can uninstall but would like to try one more time to figure this out.
