(MS08-067) Vulnerability in Server Service Could Allow Remote Code Execution

This is a critical threat I have found using Trend Micro internet security. It wants me to go to Windows update but the last time I did that i really screwed up my computer. I've used the free version of Malware Bytes Anti-Malware Remover, Spybot Search and Destroy, AdAware, a-squared. The only programs that found anything were Trend Micro Internet Security, A-squared and i think adaware. I've used these programs with the others closed of course. Does anyone know what this threat is or even if it is a threat?
