I was running EasyCleaner by ToniArts and found this (MSASCui.exe)on my start up menu. I don't recognize it and would like to know if I should remove it from the start up? I have Windows XP. I have also had a problem clicking on things- everything! When I try to open my favs, I have to click alot- not just nce or twice. And when ZoneAlarm asks about letting something access the internet, I can't click the "remember this setting" button. Can't click the tools button without holding it down and just sliding down the menu until I get to internet options. Someone please help me!! I am completely computer-stupid so please explain in plain words- not computer laguage cuz I don't understand that! Thanks all for any help!! :(

I can help with MSASCui.exe as its part of Windows Defender ( Antispyware program ) ... so do you have this installed, if so leave it be.

Posssible your mouse could be faulty? try another one if you have a spare or a nice friend who will let you borrow one to test.

I really can't address your issues with Zone Alarm and various click commands but the process MSASCui.exe is the executable for Windows Defender, and I assume you have this software installed. A good source to identify most processes is www.processlibrary.com.

If I DO have it installed, it snuck in with something else. I have never heard of Windows Defender before now. Is that something I need? Or should I delete it? Geez, I hate being this dumb about something I use every day!!

I recommend keeping Defender...it's a Microsoft product and is recommended by Major Geeks as an effective spyware/malware detection tool. Check it out and learn how to configure its settings as desired for your system. It can be set to remain on or you may turn it off and run it when you choose.

OK- thanks so much!!! You are all such wonderful people on here!! Seems like every time I have a problem, I can come here and get the solution!!! Thanks again!! (I used to think computer geeks were something bad- real "nerds"- but Major Geeks has changed my opinion!! You are all great!!) :)
