When I tried to upgrade my Java I keep getting the message that MSVCR90.DLL is missing. So located a download for this .ddl file but it won't install!:-o I'm running a custom built Windows 7 64 bit machine with both Seamonkey and Explore

I looked on my Win 7 64 bit Acer netbook and I have 9 versions of this. All with different dates so it is impossible to know what you need.
One is in an Acer directory, another in oemoffice 14, and the other seven in windows sidebyside folder (3 amd 64 and four in x86).

and post how many msvcr90.dll files you have and where they are located. maybe we can figure out what is missing.

I don't think you should just download a "missing" dll; better download the vc90 crt redistributable from

http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=5582 (32-bit)

http://www.microsoft.com/download/en/details.aspx?id=2092 (64-bit)

The interesting thing is, I don't have the VC 2008 RTE on my system, but never had a problem to install Java. Maybe because I already have the CV 2010 RTE installed (msvcr100.dll)?
