and Internet Explorer will not open a website, I get a "This page cannot be displayed" page instead. Any idea if these problems are connected? Where can I download the dll and MSJVM?

I've got a Dell computer running Bellsouth Dialup on Windows XP.

    Rollin,

I just saw where you are having more problems. You have probably lost something while deleting more spyware, go back and re-register the files like you did before.

Download and run the MSJVM Removal Tool 1.0a http://www.majorgeeks.com/download4158.html

    Install Sun Java here: http://java.sun.com/getjava/index.html

(Any files or registry entries not found or errors can be ignored and go to the next step)

Does he need Java sun or msjava? (jvm) Those are two different technologies.. What is he trying to run?

Sun Java as explained in the tutorial. No one needs msjava.

That's a crock. If no one needed jvm, it wouldn't be around.

msjvm is a known security risk, Sun is much more secure. MS no longer supports their, Sun still does. Its a no brainer and why it is in our tutorial to remove it and install Sun Java.

Why ask a question, then tell someone the answer is wrong? If you can answer the question do so, but dont come back later and point fingers. Next.

Ok, looks like it's time to reinstall XP. These problems have gone on for over a week and actually got worse today.

I uninstalled JVM and then installed Sun Java. I still didn't help the IE problem. I was able to update AVG though, just can't view a website. As soon as I did update AVG, got an warning message from AVG about a virus and it said it needed to restart. When I rebooted I get a message saying nvsc32 couldn't be found and "applications" would not be opened. Windows wouldn't start up. I just started the XP reinstall disk.
