    i am slowly working my way through the "read first removal" process. while doing this i was looking at my msconfig startup and found msmsgs and ctfmon. after several google searches, i have found out that they may possibly be malware. has anyone had experience with this? by the way, the computer i'm trying to fix is really jammed up. i've been running superantiapyware for almost 20 hours and it's only part the way through registry. is that normal for infected computers?

    Neither of those items in your startup is malware. If SAS will not complete, skip it and move on with the Read and Run First instructions. Attach the logs that you can get:
    MBAM
    ComboFix
    C:\MGLogs.zip --> from running the C:\MGTools.exe.
