MSN Error 0x81000370

Hey i have been getting the error 0x81000370 on Msn Messenger which is preventing me from logging in. I have only been getting this error since i got my adsl. I have tried uninstalling it and re-installing it, adding trusted sites, disabling my McAfee firewall, deleting cookies, deleting temperarory files but i still don't have any luck! Please help me fix this problem! I had Msn 6.2 and tried the new Msn 7.0. However still no luck. I am running on Windows XP and i have AOL 9.0 with a BT Voyager 105 modem. I can access secure sites such as hotmail without any problems.

Type in "error" in the search box and then you will get a lick to the trouble shooter. I hope that helps.

 

I have already tried this and i couldn't find any relavent answers. Thanks anyway. Is there anyone else who could help?

First, try the following: click start, then on run. Type: regsvr32 softpub.dll and press enter.

If MSN Messenger does not work after this, you can try closing Messenger then go to www.passport.net with Internet Explorer (also if you normally use another webbrowser) then click on the sign in button, you may get a certificate dialog. Accept the certificate, now if you start MSN Messenger it should work.

If you did not get the certificate dialog and MSN Messenger still does not work, open the advanced settings dialog in Internet Explorer by clicking on the Tools - Internet options menu and then go to the advanced tab. Go down to the security section and make sure use SSL 2.0 and use SSL 3.0 are both checked.

The Internet Explorer doesn't seem to work. It just says "cannot find server" and i can't log onto any websites. I use my AOL browser instead.
