    Hey:
My bro's comp has a virus that sends a message to people that he chats with on MSN Messenger. The message says:

"Your friend has suggested you Your buddy has a new Buddy Icon. Take a look! http://buddies.funbuddyicons.com"

I've scanned his system with Norton and Adaware and neither of them found anything...any ideas?

    Be careful what you delete!

The file that has the TeddyBear Icon is setdebug.exe and it is a legitamate windows file, DO NOT DELETE THIS!

First, please follow ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal

After doing all the steps listed above and you still have a problem:

    • Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT
    • Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the ZIP file.
    • Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.
    • Run HijackThis and save your log file.
    • Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next post. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).

If your not sure about a Windows file I wouldnt suggest telling someone to delete it. It could cause there system to not boot up or could cause something else.

Be careful what you ask users to delete!
