MSN Without MSN Software?

My parents have MSN. Everytime they (me) upgrade the version it absolutely screws the computer. That software is soooo obtrusive. Is there a way to dial up, log on, and use a stock version of IE without using the MSN software?

I loathe that MSN software.

You can use IE at the same time anyway. Dialup and minimize or close MSN browser (if applicable) without signing off and you're set. There's nothng special about it.

I used to use MSN and felt the same about it. So I configured a manual dial through dialup networking because I was tired of the headaches too. Just get the account info and put it in, remember: there is a prefix that goes in front the username- I don't recall what it is at the moment but you can contact there tech support to find out.

This way you can open and close the MSN browser without it interfering with the connection.

I uninstalled MSN....I use MyIE. I still use MSN messenger, tho.
To uninstall MSN, go to control panel, add remove programs, add remove windows components, and MSN is in there.
