Msnmsgr keeps loading on my user account

    My son has msnmsgr on his user setting on our computer running XP. Recently the msnmsgr keeps loading on my user setting despite repeatedly going to msconfig and disabling it from start up! Is there a setting on Windows messenger to disable it from starting up on my user setting? We never had this issue before. The windows messenger version is 8.5.1302.1018. Thanks

    Hi

    Yes, dont use Msconfig to manage these things as if you remove software thats disabled with msconfig, it can be a pain to remove the entries, not impossible but a fair bit of hassle, its best to use a dedicated startup manager, CCleaner and Windows Defender can disable startups easily.

    But you may find that the startup of MSN Mess is from Messenger itself, so open MSN Mess and click Tools > Options > Sign-in tab then untick Automatically Sign in when connected to the internet and Automatically run Windows Messenger when I logn to Windows > Apply

    and do this on all accounts on the PC.

    If that doesnt stop it I have a registry patch file that will disable it.
