msnmsgr

I keep getting an msnmsgr error. It pops up then says an error log is being created. Then that is the end of it. It happens at least once everytime I run my computer, sometimes a couple. It doesn't seem to be affecting it. How do I get this to stop?

 

try running windows update and checking for a new version of MSN messenger.

if that doesnt work, pop in your Windows XP cd, and under Optional Windows Components, there is an option to remove Windows/MSN Messenger. remove it from there, and download the latest version from microsoft.

 

Actually InYearsToCome, Add/Remove components just removes shortcuts from the start menu.


However--, you could run this command and do the same thing you are wanting to accomplish:

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

Then you can download version 4.7 from Windows Update.
