Mswrd832.cnv

I recently reinstalled Windows 98SE and am now having the occasional difficulty opening an e-mail Word attachment. When I cannot open the attachment I get "MSWRD832.CNV invalid page fault at 0197:0201fcf5".

Does anyone know what causes this, and what I can do to fix it?

Its a conversion problem. It's trying to convert the format of the attachment into one it understand and basically it can't. So I'd guess that the attachment was created in a later version of Word than the version you have. Get whoever sent the attachment to you to save it as a Rich Text Format (RTF) document and then you should be able to read it whatever version of Word you have.

Thank you, I downloaded the conversion tool from Microsoft but the attachment still won't open. I'll try RTF.
