Mucking through molasses

    A Windows 2000 computer in our office had slowed down to molasses speed. The employee who used it is no longer working here, and I do not know when the problem started. I cleaned out some of the junk--there were several IM programs, a silly smiley program, browser toolbars, and other free junk. Sigh. I also followed the thread 139302 procedures, "Windows 2000 & 2003 Cleaning Procedure". The computer is performing better now, but I would still like to make sure the logs are clean. I've attached them -- this post has all but MGlogs.zip.

    Your logs are clean.
    You may wish to post in the software section re: slowness.

    We need to cleanup from running the scans:

    Now Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
    Make sure that you tell me if you receive a success message about adding the above
    to the registry. If you do not get a success message, it definitely did not work.
