I have several computers with fairly small drives (60-80g). Can I backup all of these computers to the same 500g external Maxtor drive? Do I need to reformat the external hard drive into several drive sectors? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    TIA

An external hard drive is capable of holding images from more than one computer. No need to partition the external hard drive. I use Acronis TI and have backups for 3 computers on my external drive. Each backup is in several folders. I just make sure that I select great labels for the folder. For example, Full_Backup_HP_Oct16_08 and Full_Backup_Micron_Oct15_08. I also have folders with movies and music in the external drive - all one large partition. It is actually your choice to partition or not partition.
