Running a Gateway 7210GX laptop purchased 6/30/05. Mobile AMD 64 Processor 3200+, 2.00 GHz, 512 MG RAM. Windows XP home Edition V2002, sp2.

Issue #1, recently infected with p2p worm. I tried to fix it by running (safe mode) spybot, adaware and stinger, then hijack this to remove the 2 entries for p2pnetworking. Here is my current hijack this log (but I haven't re-booted since fixing the p2p entries) Is there anything else I need to do here?

#2 I cannot seem to access some sites on the internet. Doesn't matter if I use firefox or IE, I get a message "operation timed out" and won't connect to some websites -- like google.com. Some sites will pop right up, especially if it's not a site I frequent, like yours, dogpile, msn.com etc. But Google, and some of the sites I use every day -- no way. I searched this site and tried several of the fixes listed, no luck. I also tried clearing my history, temps, cookies, etc - still no luck.

#3 I cannot access task manager. I read somewhere that it might not be compatible with my computer? but this doesn't sound right to me - then again, I'm not the whiz-bang that you folks are!

Can you please analyze my hijack this log and tell me any potential fixes needed. I thought I was pretty savvy with this stuff, but this worm has me frazzled.

Edit by chaslang: Unrequested inline log removed

any help you can give will be greatly appreciated.

I am SO SORRY! I didn't see the new sticky about not posting the logfile.

A new problem has cropped up too -- now it's soooo sloooooooow! It's worse than any dialup and I have cable connection.

Anyway, I also rebooted and came up with the logfile the same as the one I posted so it does appear the worm is gone.

I appreciate your help to the other problems
thanks again, and sorry about the faux pas.

Please read the announcement and sticky threads. HJT logs should only be posted when requested and then they must be attachments to your message. I did not (on a quick glance) notice any real problems. I would suggest not loading Bigfix.exe as it can be a real resource hog.

If you still think you have malware problem, you should follow our standard cleaning procedures given below.

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ ME FIRST BEFORE ASKING FOR SUPPORT: Basic Spyware, Trojan And Virus Removal

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem, boot into normal mode and make sure you follow these directions:

    - Download HijackThis 1.99.1

    - Unzip the hijackthis.exe file to a folder you create named C:\Program Files\HJT

    - Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file.

    - Before running HijackThis: You must close each of the following:your web browser, e-mail client, instant messenger, and programs like notepad, wordpad, MS Word etc. And any other unnecessary running programs.

    - Run HijackThis and save your log file.

    - Post your log as an ATTACHMENT to your next message. (Do NOT copy/paste the log into your post).
