Music File Question

I downloaded several Music files from "The Internet Archive" http://www.archive.org/index.php. A site with open and free music, books, videos etc. The files are mp3.
They play great in Windows Media Player and I put them on my Mp3 player and they play the same on it.
Each file is about 40 to 50 minutes of songs. I rather not have the whole file on my mp3 player, mainly because I don't know what songs are on each file they are just named OldiesButGoodies-Cd.01 through 15. I have to play the whole file or just skip to the next song on my mp3 player that is not a part of the OldiesButGoodies-Cd.
Can I open that file and pick and choose songs, or is it not possible because of the way it was downloaded in one big file?

 

Hmmm... from the sounds of it, you've downloaded entire CDs ripped as a single .MP3 file.

I'm certain that with an .MP3 editor, such as Audacity, you could edit the file and split it into individual files for each song.

I downloaded Audacity and used it to cut out the songs I don't care for and save the ones I do into a new file. I will be able to load that file on my Mp3 player now. The program was easier to use than I thought it would be. Thanks again for you help.
