Goldenskull I can't follow the rules

This site i have been surfing for a few hours looking for my favorite bands and songs and for the most part i found most of them here , <snipped url>

Not sure if you guys will allow this or not.Seems to be a safe site.

Now just saying this i did find that some songs are not working but most of the ones i did find work just fine.

That's because several hundred DMCA copyright infringements were filed against the site through Google and the links had to be taken down. That's bound to happen when you are offering free downloads of copyrighted material. ;)

And before you ask, even though they claim to be just a "crawler", they are responsible for the content of their site and any issues of this sort are their problem.

    Hi

This thread may just disappear after I have consulted and read up on a few legalities as Solaris89 mentions even though they do not host any files, they do link to them and that's potentially by association infringement.

The BPI has a DMCA legal doc in action now filed again through Google from 21/12/2012 which mentioned this sites and others,

iTunes, Amazon, Napster and many more. If it's free and using torrents, it's not legal. When they are legal it is usually a song or two or very clearly states the artist is giving it away. I downloaded a file and it was called:

    y1pwM7K5WMdbU_tGgowlu-P54g-QcH7WeC8loLwuHC5Z85Yi0w0D8qtunzkf_DWnu6ckgxZyXxplhJ8wmBZ3WkDrg
once renamed to .mp3 it was the actual mp3. It appears to be a site trying to mask filenames.

As far as I know my test file was Taylor Swift and I believe she charges for her music like most.

Music, movies and games. If they are free, you are usually stealing.

I assume this site will be gone soon. Stick to reliable sources.

If you want to listen to "free" music and stay legal, consider using a legitimate streaming audio service such as Pandora.

Noooo Xbox Music/Zune is best as it has a larger catalogue than iTunes, better software and you can pay and using UK prices £89 a year and download or stream as much as you like, do bare in mind they are DRM, but then I find this better than the iTunes pay per track or album method as that's expensive in the end.
