MusicMatch messed up Audi CD

Hello, hopefully I can get some help here!
I installed musicmatch 9.0 and only it would allow me to play audioCd's. I could not use anything else to play them even when winamp or my cd player came up. I uninstalled it because it dragged and did not play the CD without dragging. Since I have unistalled it I now cannot play an Audio CD. My MP3s still play in winamp. Any Audio Cds however will not play on anything I have. What happens is you can see the timer saying it plays but no sound at all comes from anywhere.

Even my burner program will show the cd playing but no sound from my speakers. As for all other sounds they work it is only with the Audio CDs that I get nothinh.
I noticed MusicMatch said something about formating my D & E drives but have no idea how to get things back the way they were before.

Any help at all would be appreciated since I have exhausted anything that I have tried to do.

Reinstall Winamp?

 

Hi KrazyKrl, yep tried reinstalling winamp and no luck at all.

 

It sounds more like that the cd-rom drive is properly connected to sound card. You might want to open your case and make sure all the cables are plugged in firmly if you want to. that is just the first thing that popped into my mind.

If it is a software problem, it might be that the cd player is actually muted in the sound properties control panel. you should try looking there.

 

Yep thats what I thought too, but no everything there seems to be ok.

I am wondering if MusicMatch has changed my file extentions because once it was uninstalled things seem to be missing from there. I have no idea I have tried everything I could think of. What puzzles me is why all other sounds work, and the only thing that does not is Audio Cd.s and they won't work in either drive D nor E. No idea maybe I will end up reformatting because of MusicMatch!
