must log in as Administrator! But I am the lone user

I just installed win xp pro and wanted to change my Eset smart security settings, but it said, must log in as Administrator. Shocking!!!

I am the only administrator and lone user of this pc.
When pc boots, it directly boots my account, there is no other account!
But when I boot in safe mode, I see 2 accouts asking for login, 1 is administrator and 2nd as my NAME!

In normal mode, control panel, user accounts it shows my name as computer administrator. No other account is there and guest account is off.

I am confused now.:-o

Please help.

 

BTW I can access everything add/remove, run programmes, regedit, all previliges except this above described.

 

This is correct. On most XP systems, there is a default administrator account, and it sounds like your machine is no exception.

I think the real issue here is why your software doesn't recognize your user account as an administrator. Sounds like it is looking for the account name and not the account type. PITA.

Is it possible to right-click the executable (or shortcut) for the Eset smart security settings, and select 'Run As', and use the dialog to run it as the default administrator account?

 

@bold but there is no exit for Eset Smart Security. Can't exit/shutdown this.

I tried right click on ESET Smart Security and run as

I restarted my pc and now I can change setting like administrator.
Don't know how this happened!
hehe but all is well now.
