Somewhere along the line of updates or what ever my A:/ (floppy disk) has gotten removed from my pc I have tried useing a floppy disk that has worked brofre and after a friend of mine used it with no problem so I know its not the disk, I plug it in and nothing happens. I go to My Computer to try to manually start it and that drive is gone. I have windows XP. I went to microsoft and looked over there filrs for problems such as this ans it had me go to redigit. 1. I hate to edit there I get very nervous lol and 2. When I got there it told me to go to this string

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Flpydisk

and when I got there there I found everything there except the Flpydisk file it is missing but i did see a file that said something to the effect or error.

    Any Ideas

    Thank You for your time.

If you are running xp ....first thing to try is to go to start / run / type "sfc /scannow" without qoutes and note the space ...have your cd ready to put in drive ...run atleast twoice.

Have you checked the settings in your BIOS. I lost mine for two years once tried everything to get it back and eventually found that something had reconfigured my BIOS. Changed setting back and up returned my floppy A:/ drive.

Have a go at what Banacek says.. When your computer is booting keep tapping 'Delete' this will take you to the Bios/Cmos settings. A Blue screen will appear (and from now on you will not be able to use your mouse) using the arrow keys move down to Standard CMOS Features, then down again to Drive 'A' then press 'Enter' and see if the box alongside has a square highlight on 1.44, 3.5 in if not use keys to do so. When all is done press 'Escape' to bring you back to where you started . then press F10 key, then 'Y' then 'Enter' which will save/exit and reboot. Try not to touch any other settings whilst you are in the blue screen mode. If you feel you have made a mistake use the Escape key.
