my apologies, ignorance is obviously not bliss

evidently i made a faux paux seeking help at more than one location. as a computer dummy with limited time available to correct this problem i was only trying to find answers where i could. i didn't know you guys were in competition with each other as i've seen multiple forums offering advice by the same individuals. this is my bad and i'm sorry if i offended anyone. if it's any consolation, i've been working on this problem off and on for months now and haven't gotten a solution yet at any site. as i'm sure it's obvious i've gotten zero help from msn or adobe that fixed anything and have spent hours of wait time to get nothing. as wizards you folks probably could have fixed my issues post haste if you were at the keyboard and had your resources at hand because you know where to go and have a grasp on the process to get there. i'm a monkey see monkey do kind of person and have a hard time seeing the path with so many trees in the way. i barely have a limited grasp on the acronyms and proper terms all this stuff is labeled with, let alone how to reboot in safe mode and navigate from one program to another without getting the blue screen of death. i'm just barely treading water here gentlemen and looking for a lifeline. i've got a kid with an new ipod and i can't download songs from a legitimate site i paid for cause i have to disable all my protection in order too do it (allcoolmusic.com). i've signed up for two evening computer classes at the community college and they got cancelled the first and second nights i was there cause there were only two of us. i don't have the patience or time to sit through tutorials on-line that are either too basic or too complicated. i don't make my living with a computer, i barely get weekend time to foray onto the web. if i was to start all over again i would have made computer science a higher priority in my life when it would have done me some good. i'm just an old dog. sorry and if you guys can't help me i'll understand. i do understand pride. in fact i've been accused of having a little too much of it. (usually by my wife)

We really are not in competition with anyone. The problem arises when you are seeking help at more than one forum simultaneously as the problem is likely being worked from different angles as the individuals on the different forums can't or don't see what is being done on the other. This leads to frustration, confusion and mistakes. This being said, the user, you, ends up with a messed up computer or even more frustrated than when you started.:(

If you would like to work through your issues, decide which forum you want to post on to work through it. I of course would recommend MajorGeeks.com!:D Start a thread in the correct sub-forum re: Software, Hardware, etc. and work it through to completion. :)

I do wish you luck in getting this resolved.

I beleive you just need to add the site or program executable to the allowed list on your firewall. Also check the FAQ on the site to look for the settings you need to make in order to dload your music.

    Hope it helps...Napnut
