If anyone was wondering what my avatar is, it is my secondary fermentor filled with luscious uncarbonated beer! The little white thing that you can barely see is the fermentation lock, it allows air to come out, but prevents air from coming back in.

Yes, I brew my own beer. That fermentor is a "Better Bottle" brand. Lighter than a glass carboy, far superior then buckets. My next brew, I'll be doing, sometime this week is a Chocolate Hazelnut Porter.....

I'd love to do some ales, but, being in the summer months, will make this endeavor tough, so, for brewing purposes only, I'm looking forward to winter.

As soon as I get my cable for my cell phone, I'll post some pictures of my equipment, my next recipie, brewing pictures, and whatnot. I'd post in some homebrewing site, but there are to many pictures like that. I'd rather post it here, where you don't normally see this in action.

Between 1 to 2 hours, just for the brewing process. Then you must cool the wort to a specific temperature as fast as you can, I have certain equipment that allows me to do this. Then transfer your wort to your primary fermentor, after this, you must aireate your wort. This process takes anywhere from 2 mins (using my Oxygen bottle) to 30 mins (using the shaking the fermentor bottle or using a air pump from a fish tank). What makes wort into beer? Yeast. Special yeast....

Anyway, I could post a HUGE post about brewing, but, from start to finish, when you are actually drinking your beer, it takes any where from 6 weeks to 3 months. Pending on the style of beer you are making. Making beer is easy, waiting till you can consume the beer is the hard part.

I say 1 to 2 hours for the brewing process, this does not include the time of sanitizing your equipment.

I don't consider myself a master brewer, but I feel I have a large grasp of how to make beer. This coming up brew day will be my 4th batch. I'll be posting many more times here when upcoming brewdays come. I try to brew once a month, though, I'd love to start brewing 2 times a month.

    Yes, this is all legal.

Each adult who lives in a house hold can brew 100 gallons. So if you are a single 31 yo guy like me, I can only legally brew 100 gallons. If I find some girl who likes brewing beer also, we can combine and brew 200 gallons in a year. So, my hunt is on! http://forums.majorgeeks.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

    One note:

If you can make a cake or follow a recipie, then you can make beer. Making beer is easier than making a soufle (sp?).....

    Well, now you know someone!

    Anyway.....

Stainless steel is your best friend, with beer. So is sanitation.
