my background went black

I had a scarware attack and I ran an anti virus. The next day I was at youtube video and there was no sound. I went to do a system restore and when it was over i lost my background pictures and the visual part of the pictures files. Did a systen restore and it stayed in system restore and it I stopped it 3 hours into the restore. Can i get some direction which way to go. thanks.

 

If you have removed malware from your computer and then use system restore to rollback your system to a point in time that malware was infecting your computer, you have reinfected yourself. It sounds like your antivirus may not have caught it all if you were still having problems afterward though. I'd suggest following the steps in Read and Run Me First and then posting in the malware forum if you suspect infection.

 

If you have Windows 7, any flavor, sometimes does that, but more important does that when displays the notice about his autenticity. So, if this is the case and your Windows is genuine, just review your settings and redo everything.
