My Bloody virus/spyware battle

Ok, i dont need any help or anything, i just hope this helps.

I was on my computer yesterday, and a friend of mine sent me a link to a crack site. Being that it was my friend and all, i trusted him and followed the link. when i got off the site (mscracks.com), my desktop was filled with icons for free porn and internet access. this led me to buy norton 2005. i updated everything, and ran the scan and i found about 400 different viruses, trojans, worms, and some adware was even picked up with norton. so i deleted all of that, but my problems were still there. so i got on the internet with my hijacked version of internet explorer, and downloaded adaware se personal and hijack this. these two cleared out about 80 percent of the remaining malicious programs, so i downloaded spybot, search and destroy and zone alarm firewall for after the cleanup. these rid my system of all of the adware, but i still had about 5 hijackers that hijack this couldnt clean out. so i downloaded cwshredder, and that cleared out the rest ( they were all coolwebsearch). this whole battle took about 8 hours, 4 pots of coffee, and 8 black sabbath cds. now i am in the process of configuring 8 different firewalls so that each one covers what the others dont. tell me what you think

 

Sounds like a great start. Since you have D/L all of those preventative measures I'm guessing you went here
How to Protect yourself from malware!
If you didn't, be sure to add a few you missed. I would also recommend using Firefox as your browser and SpywareBlaster. Be sure to immunize with Spybot. Keep you AV and OS updated and scan at least once a week.

Also u might want to submit a HJT log so we can make sure you are clean.

Now post a HijackThis log as an attachment to your message (Do not post the log inline). All running programs should be closed, INCLUDING YOUR WEB BROWSER, e-mail. Close before running Hijack This!

To repeat: Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file. Place it in its own folder for example C:\Program Files\HJT
