    Hello. My name is Nigel.

Whenever I connect to the Internet, I get plagued by a variety of popup web pages (eg www.utarget.co.uk AND ad.bannerconnect.net).

    I have utilized "CWSHREDDER"...nothing found.

I have SPYWARE DOCTOR which finds residue "Hotbar" and "securityworm5 (2).htm) and deletes all these. I have performed this in "Safe Mode" and then rebooted but to no avail.

There appears to be nothing strange in my "HIJACK THIS" log.

Microsoft is attempting to download "security update for flash player KB913433" but this is never installed and the tray "shield" continues over successive sessions.

There is ALSO a strange message saying that I need to connect to the internet for "project1".

The vague outline of a long thin blank fielded form also flashes up and away during windows boot up.

What can I do? I am lost!

    Nigel

Hi Nigel and welcome to Majorgeeks :)

TBH, I would first of all run through or 1st steps guide verbatim, then post the logs requested for one of our Malware experts to review as they more often than not spot something amiss!

Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support

Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.

    - Very Important: Make sure you tell us the results from running the tutorial...was anything found? Were you unable to complete any of the scans?...Were you unable to download any of the tools?...Did you do the on-line scans as suggested? etc.

After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis and attach a log:

    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)
    • Bitdefender
    • Panda Scan
    • HijackThis
