I have just bought this game, but it seems to crash in the same place all the time, and it is in the very beginning. The error message tells me that I have to little harddrive space left and it is advising me to free 5 mb. I have almost 40 gb left on me hard drive, so I am af bit confused. Does anyone know what to do?
I'm running it on PC - of course - and in win xp sp 2. Help!!

Ok, this kinda happened to me, i didnt have the correct system requirements, so i changed a file name and i got the game working, most ppl have to do it to even play cod4 even if they have Recommended system requirements, but just in case, i made backups of the files and put them in a separate folder and if this doesnt work, just switch the files back or rename them back, and if your still having problems, then just try uninstalling the game completely, and reinstall, sometimes that helps.

    Directions:
Note: You want to make a backup of these 2 files and put them into another file in case this does not work for you, its just a precaution.

Go to the game directory, Usually C: drive, browse to your cod4 folder

Go to the Miles subfolder in the cod4 folder

make backups of These files(just in case so you can replace these later if it does not work)
    mssmp3.asi
    mssds3d.flt

    Rename mssmp3.asi to mssmp3.bak

Rename mssds3d.flt to mssds3d.bak (some people dont need to rename this file, and im not sure if you need to or not, but ive had no problems with it yet, and if you do, be free to rename it back to .flt, some ppl rename both files and are fine, and others rename just the mssmp3.asi, you can try both out to see what works better)

Once theyre renamed, you may want to restart, i always do just so everything starts off fresh, but it probably wont matter much, and then start up SP or MP, it should work, and it may be a little bit laggy in the beginning, but it evens out in like 30 sec, depends on your comp specs

Let me know if this helps =D
