My Cat Died

Yesterday my cat Freyja died well we had her put down.:cry

Basically on Saturday I got out of the shower saw my cat laying on the bed and went to pet her well when I rubbed her left ear she meowed a lot so I took a look and saw red ear wax and possibly dried blood. I looked it up online and it seemed she either scratched her ear of had an ear infection. People had said it was common and would pass so we decided to see what happened.

Well the next day came and she was still the same only a little more shy I guess you could say she wanted to be alone and was going in the most random of places. I was worried and to make matters worse the vets around me are closed on Sunday.

Monday morning came and I woke to my mom on the phone with a vet the last thing I heard was the vet recommending pedialyte. My mom had put her in a box so when I went to look at her I knew it wasn't good at all. When my mom left to get pedialyte I put the box on my table ripped the side off and in the 15mins she was gone I knew my cat was on her death bed she only moved what little she could when she was in pain. The noise she made was one I had heard from a cat that was near death 2 weeks ago.

When my mom got back we took her to a a shelter and had her euthanized. It all happened so fast and I don't even know why it doesn't help I only had her for a short time not even a year. She was the only cat that ever truly bonded with me. It freaking sucks loosing an animal:cry.

I chose to use ruin (Elder Futhark) instead of a regular text. Why? Well I named my cat after the Norse Goddess of Love & Beauty Freyja(pronounced Fray-a my sister and her bf always said fray-ja...)
so I wanted to go for a ruin type feeling. Translated it should read "R I P Freyja" but I may be wrong I just used the many sheets online that reference what symbol belongs to what letter.


In the end I just wish I had more time with her I will miss her and her ways.

 

Sorry to hear that We do get attached to our pets - they are like perpetual children. Never easy to lose them.

Sorry for the lost. one of my old cats died xmas. and like u it was the wkend. and unexpected. i had him in fav blanket and box. and watched and pet for hours.

 

Yeah it's never a fun thing you always look were your animal use to sit/lay and it just feels strange not seeing them there. It's just hard to imagine never seeing them again.

Sorry that you last your feline friend. That's always a hard one to get over.
"Freyja" was very close to my wife's maiden name, a a matter of fact, roflmao (yeah, she's Swedish).

 

Sorry for your loss Hellsrage. My wife and I have had many cats in our lives together. Some died old, some young. Either way it really hurts.
The best I can say to you is adopt another cat. They are all so different in their quirky ways and another cat will bond equally with you because you know how to bond with it.

Over the years, I have also had to deal with the loss of cats who became close family members.

Although it may be little consolation now, it sounds like Freyja had a great life with a loving owner like you.

 

Freh-jjah. She travelled in a carriage pulled by two large cats, the cat was her animal.

So sorry for your loss. My cat is growing older, and I don't want her to. I have lost cats in the past, and you have my sympathies. They are irreplaceable family members, and losing them hurts.

 

I am so sorry for your loss, Hellsrage. I have lost feline companions I've had for years, and ones I have had less than a year, and grieve hard for both. It's comforting to have a remembrance of them, such as the picture collage . I had mine cremated, and have the urns, or pictures, if an urn isn't possible. If you google 'rainbow bridge', you should be able to find some support forums for people going through animal companion loss.

Awww, I'm so sorry for loss. I saw the lovely tableau of your angel kitty...she was a beauty. I lost mine to an unspeakable tragedy about 6 months ago, and to this very day, I stare at the place on my bed where my boy kitty used to sleep on my bed, and I miss him like crazy. I take comfort knowing that the day he went Home, he was free of pain, able to leap tall buildings in a single bound if he wanted to. Sometimes, I can sense his spirit...hear that deep purr right by my left ear (where he always slept) and it's like a hug. Maybe your angel kitty will pay a spiritual visit to you one day to let you know that she's okay.

 

So sorry, we went through it not long ago also, She was 16, had her from a baby
