My problem - at times when I go 2 the web page http://www.crunchyroll.com/anime I am redirected 2 an adware popup. Also when I scan with spybot these names popup: AdRevolver, BlueStreak, Burstmedia, CasaleMedia, DoubleClick, HitBox, MediaPlex, Statcounter, TagASauras, and Zedo. They always come up. How do I get rid of them and can they harm my computer.

Details - It was about 2-4 months ago when I was trying to figure out which websites I used to watch fight videos on. I search this one site and "dirty websites" are listed. So i scroll down to search something else and my cursor clicks one. the site immediatly puts some software on my computer which was removed. From then I got the adware and this about:blank thing that popped up when i opened a link. I got rid of the about:blank but I accidentaly downloaded the adware one day(me being stupid). The name was malwarealarm(also removed). And once more I was tricked into downloading "Zango" the other day which I think was fully removed thanx to this website :) but I still get the crunchyroll pop-up and my computer runs a little slower

So can u help me plz

Yes but you need to run it not just download it. And then you need to attach the logs that were requested in the READ & RUN ME which you should have seen if you ran it.

We request it because you need to do it. It does not reduce your security. In fact in regards to malware it improves it by letting you see any hidden malware files that may have been put on your PC.

You need to 100% complete the instructions that BJ gave you in message # 2. Until you do this we cannot help you.

You were supposed to run ALL steps in the READ & RUN ME and they needed to be run in the order written. You did not install and run AVG Antispyware as requested and thus do not have a log for it either.

You also skipped other steps like:
    • you have multiple antivirus applications installed <--- the main reason for your PC being slow & one of the 1st things we asked you to do.
    • you did not uninstall Viewpoint Media Player as requested in step 1
Uninstall all but one antivirus now.

Then uninstall the below old versions of software:
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 2
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 8
    Java(TM) 6 Update 2
Viewpoint Media Player <-- should have been uninstalled in step 0 of the READ ME

Then follow the instructions for running AVG Antispyware and attach the requested log.

Then attach a new MGlogs.zip file log from MGtools.

The above is what I meant by 100% complete. All steps must be followed AND all logs must be attached. When logs have not been attached, the instructions have not been completed.

After you uninstall McAfee, you should run the below before doing anything else.

    McAfee Consumer Product Removal Tool

McAfee and Norton/Symantec rarely uninstall properly especially when multiple antivrus programs are installed at the same time.

ok I did that but before I start I have one more question. will I have to install the updates/reinstall the programms that I uninstall (besides Mcafee). And will I have to download a firewall because Mcafee was my firewall and I'm not sure if my Norton covers a firewall

I don't follow your question. You had to uninstall McAfee since you apparently wanted to keep Norton. You should not be thinking about reinstalling McAfee unless you are going to totally removed Norton first.

If you uninstall any of these and then decide to reinstall then yes you do need to install all updates.

And yes if Norton does not have a firewall (you have to determine this for yourself) then you have to install one and it should not be McAfee. I would not recommend mixing anything from McAfee and Norton on the same PC.

Now if your question was in reference to the Sun Java uninstall and Viewpoint Media, you just need to uninstall what I requested. You don't need any updates.

No!! Why would you update what we are going to uninstall? Just complete instructions in the order they are given. Don't do something unless we ask you to.

Ok I think I did it rite this time but I forgot to toggle system restore:cry i think these are the logs but since im redoing it I'll have to repost them anyway. And i just want 2 say i use firefox however when i went into internet explorer the icons for the tabs were mixed up again (msn icon may appear as youtube) im sure it'll be normal after i retry the cleaning process perfectly this time

No one asked you to do this and you should not be toggling System Restore until all malware (if you have any) has been removed. However, I do not see any malware issues that we need to deal with. So perhaps you should post a list of your problems in the Software Forum.

ok i ran the malware removal a few times more (I know I'm really bad at directions) and after careful reading nothing was detected in the recent removal. I'm really srry about all of the questions and I'll ask the hardware experts for more help. thanx
