    i got intel pentium4 3.0E w/ HT (presscott)
    board: asus p4p800s-X
    2 DDR RAM 256mb /400
ati radeon 9550 extreme 128mb/128 bit
    I dont overclock.
i got 1 side fan, 1 at the back just below the power supply and 1 directly on the power supply. i noticed all fans are like exhaust(air going out of the pc no fan is letting air go in)is it ok?

once i turn on my pc, i got a 60-63 degrees celcius reading on my cpu.

i noticed in other threads that some are just getting half of my temperature and i think i got so high temp.

    ps. sorry for my english

what kind of thermal interface matierial are you using? you might consider reseating the CPU using a thin coat of TIM

and don't apologize for your english, it is probably much better than how well I could speak your native language

i didnt change anything on the thermal interface, just the stock ones.

now i have a lower reading,55 degrees C, i opened the side cover and it is raining :p . I forgot to tell you im from south east asia, tropical climate. maybe our normal temperature (23-30 deg C) somehow affects my cpu temperature(guess).

do i need to change my thermal interface asap?

its running a little hot but nothing to worry about right away. but if it gets any hotter than that there might be trouble.

wen i play games, i get 68 deg C or more but havent reached 70..maybe ill let it burn!!i got 3 yrs warranty anyway..i hate coming back there, they gave me a lot of problems, first i bought athlon64 3000+ i got so many problems like hang up on games and internet connection stability, when i exchanged it for pentium43.0E, they charged me even the processor and mobo of my athlon64 have higher prices compared to the one i replaced( i waited for 3 hrs for replacement), plus i bought a monitor to them, when we are about to leave, i thought maybe we should check the monitor first, then we found out it was defective.when i arrived at home, i realized they didnt give me the driver for the mobo, i came back...I lost so much time and money because they gave me defective products..
my payback wud be letting it burn and always get a brand new processor :p

Ya Know what the E stands for dont ya? Extra Heat! "LOL"

I got one, I'm alittle dissapointed with Intel, IMO, thier overated!
I've got Amd rig with XP 2500 cpu/Nforce chipset that run's just fast and is more stable for half the price, Go Figure!

Anyway's, mine (the P4) run's around 35c with stock heatsink and thermal pad. ( ocassional peaks to around 40c)
Sounds like you could use more air flow in your case.
Mine has three fan's incomming, two at the back of case blowing out, and my power supply has two fans exausting, All cables tucked away.
As someone already posted try reseat Heatsink with some good Thermal paste.
Room temp is a factor too!

i know my amd64 3000+ is way faster and runs cooler than what i exchanged(p4 3.0E), but then, i didnt have hangups on this pc. 4 days ago when i still have the amd 64, i did try to fix the problems, i had 3 sleepless nights but still, problems continue. I have another athlonxp 1700+ the game i was playing at my amd 64 doesnt hang up there. and so i thought maybe there are compatibility problems on the 64 bit processor. I dont regret exchanging my processor, even if i got cheaper board, slower processor and added little money to pay for the 2day exchange policy of the pc shop; as long as I dont troubleshoot all the time!!!

take note the game i was referring to is ragnarok online, which has very low system requirements, even my friend's pentium 3 can run it without hangups.

if you can exchange the cpu for a new one you may have burnt it somehow and now it may not work as good

but first what the watts on your power pack??? mine is a 550 the power pack makes a big deal on pc power and if its to small then it could be whats wroung

i know of a few guys this has happened to [my self being one of them]

yes i already exchanged my amd 64 3000+ to a pentium4 3.0E prescott, and added few bucks to let me exchange it even though my AMD motherboard is a little expensive than my current mobo

do u mean the power supply im using? they asked me to upgrade my power supply, i change it to TASK 350 Watts. They said its enough for my pc.

tell me, was it a good decision that i exchanged my amd64 with p4?
