Hi, my desktop was rebooting randomly for no apparent reason the other day. I decided to do some scans for malware and spybot search and destroy found something called Element/boot.exe. which I researched and found out it is a trojan that makes your computer reboot randomly. It's fixed now but how was it possible for this trojan to get past my AVG and spyware blaster?:confused

    Hi alontheriver,

No antivirus or antimalware software can get everything. That's why we use a variety of tools and programs to fix things that aren't overlapped by all the companies. I'm glad your computer is fixed. If you haven't gone through the How to Protect Yourself from Malware it has some good tips in it, although it sounds like you're doing everything right already. If you have any further symptoms, please go through the READ & RUN ME FIRST and post the logs to us.

    Thanks.
