little fish! friend threw some left over omlette into the water. fishing is so easy here. just put a hook in, catch a small one, change hooks to a bigger one and use the small fish as bait. generally takes about 5mins to catch lunch.

That's a great pic!!!! We just went not too long ago to The Fish Ladder (what it's called around here) and there were a ton of carp in there doing just what your pic is showing!! People were dropping popcorn and crackers down there just to watch the fishies fight! There were some HUGE ones in there! I cracked up soooo hard because I've never in my life seen that before! It was great!!! :)

Here's a pic that I took with my cell phone. I didn't have my digital with me (I was kicking myself for it, too.) The quality isn't the best, but what do you expect from a phone? lol We took the kids to the airport to watch the planes land and the sunset was just gorgeous... So of course, I had to get the camera out to take a few pics.

Arggghhhhh...you just had to post that Ace! I soooo miss my mountain bike, which is still in the UK. It will cost me heavily to ship it over, but it fits me so well and comfortably I'm loathed to sell it, lose money, and try to find something as good over here. It's a GT Advantage III. It does all the work for me...it's the biz :D

Oh good some one that actualy is into bikeing :)....No one around here bikes ...well thay do but thay all ride these POS huffys rusted in half and bent rims ( and thay always whant me to fix them  ) what kind of bike did ha have ?? I couldent find any thing googling "GT Advantage III" Any way mine is a stock wally world frame :D with a zoom gordo 650 fork ( 100MM travel stock but i modded it to well over 150 ;) ) and a Kuster legend rear shock( ~100MM) i have a set of alix rims to put on it but the cheap stock rear derailer dosent like them...185mm avid frons disk and of course my tires 2.5 x 26 maxxis hookworms :D...

    Sorry...not engaging brain today

It's a GT Aggressor III as per the photo but mine's in grey black and red. Most of all the saddle is sooooo comfy! It has shimano 24 gears & derailer, V-brakes and awesome front shocks. All round an excellent off-the-peg bike. It's all aluminium so incredibly light, which is great for when you come across those unexpected fences, as I'm not very strong in my upper body. I love the shimano system...perfectly smooth gear changes. Used shimano for years on motorbikes so kinda stuck with them when I got into the mountain biking.

Man...I have to import that machine now :D I have withdrawal big time!

God I haven't cycled in donkeys years. The last time I saw my bike the handle bars had been bent to be flat with the frame, when we were moving house. It was bloody hard to reposition them!!

Maybe you should dig it out McA...you have some wonderful countryside to cycle in Herts and I hear the temperatures are being really mild for this time of year too :)

How do you find the mono shock system? My son recently bought a Mongoose with one fitted...not that he's used it more than twice. I'm thinking of borrowing it until I can get mine over here.

I have a Trek Antelope 830, which I bought in 1988 (if memory serves me well). Still works like a champ, no rust in sight!

The only thing I have upgraded is a fatter Trek seat, for my ageing butt. :)

Though, soon, I'll be changing out the tires with city/trail tires. Would love to upgrade to disc brakes.

Though, now that I'm in the city, I found out that I need to buy lights. I love night riding, typically around 2200-0400.

Nice bike ACE. Here's mine. I've had it for 8years. Three sets of chains and rings, a dozen tires, half a dozen brake sets and one rear wheel. I just can't afford to replace it with suspension ($1000 or more) Mine's dirtier than yours.

Nooooo....look in the first pic you posted. The shock between the front and back wheels....known in the UK as a mono shock (cos there's only one) :)

@sibeer...man, I would love to have a Kona

OHHH i thought you ment a single sided fork ( what we call a mono shock around here :D ) SO yea mean the rear shock right  lol....175MM fron travel and 125 rear to be exact......yea its a lot of travle for a on road bike..but i made it for urban assault ;)

sorry photog, I've been caught up in not smoking and decorating my bedroom.
I've been to Niagara. awesome. breathtaking.

this is a place called 'green lake'. it is that color because the hight of the surrounding vegetation constantly reflects green . the water is actually crystal.

ok todays photo is....hawaii's state flower. the hibiscus, which grows wild all over the place in a profusion of different colours. personally i think the state flower should be either the plumeria or the orchid, but what do i know. :)

Ya, even though it's not a native to these parts, it grows pretty much by itself here too. I had a huge one along the side of the house, but the termites got to it. And when I had the termite treatment done when I moved in, it died off - bah!

this is one of the hot pools near the volcano. the tempreture of the water is about the same as a warm - hot bath. it is reputed to be a healing pond, but to be honest i just think the tempreture of the water eases the aches and pains in much the same way as any hot bath would do. never-the-less, its something else to dive into water heated by a volcano. :)

We have some hot springs near us. Best used apparently when the snow is on the ground, otherwise it's just too hot. Some pretty scary sights there though, and some take it upon themselves to get totally coated in the local mud first and wander around

they do that sort of thing in scandinavia, go from snow to sauna!! not sure my body would stand that kind of shock lol. this particular pond is comfortable warm, but there are also natural saunas that i find just too much. the nearest thing to that would be being able to play in the snow at the top of mauna kea in the morning, and taking a truck full of snow to the beach in the afternoon. next time i'll grab a photo of a snowman on the sand.
