My file names have all changed ?

    Hi

    Please could someone help.

    Turned on PC this morning and noticed every single mp3 on my machine and connected external HDs have been renamed with .mp3 at the end !

    For example a file name Micheal Jackson - Beat It has now been changed to Michael Jackson - Beat It.mp3.

    I have not changed any settings at all and dont want every file to show .mp3.

    Does anyone know how or why this has happened ?

    If you go to Control Panel -> Folder Options -> View, is 'Hide extensions for known file types' unchecked?
