My First Goodle Search Is Slow - Help

Greetings Fellow Geeks -

I have had a recent development in my Firefox browsing. It seems whenever I search for a new topic via search engines, Google for example, the first query is s l o w. If I stop, and search again, use another search engine, or just hit the search button again, the search is instantaneous as it should be.

The browser does send the search query out as indicated by the info tab in the lower left. I don't think it is a virus, I don't want to investigate that route yet. I was wondering if anyone has had this issue or knows of a fix.

I am using Windows 7 32 bit and Firefox 5.0.
