    Hello,

I seem to have a virus that won't allow me to visit google or websites designed to help rid me of a computer virus. Very frustrating. So here is my first report from Rogue Killer. Thank you.

I still need the following logs:
    MBAM
    Hitman
    C:\MGLogs.zip

    In the mean time:

Double-click RogueKiller.exe to run. (Vista/7 right-click and select Run as Administrator)
When it opens, press the Scan button
Now click the Registry tab and locate these detections:

    • [SERVICE][ROGUE ST] HKLM\[...]\CCSet\[...]\Services : 10088 (C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Temp\10088.sys [x]) -> FOUND
      [SERVICE][ROGUE ST] HKLM\[...]\CCSet\[...]\Services : 5727 (C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Local Settings\Temp\5727.sys [x]) -> FOUND

Place a checkmark each of these items, leave the others unchecked.
    Now press the Delete button.

Now click the Files/folders tab and locate these detections:

    • [ZeroAccess][File] @ : C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-18\$d058e1ac1ebe5ed3570dcda2fc6fc2a5\@ [-] --> FOUND

    Hi Tim
Thank you for your reply. I am new at this, I appreciate your patience with me. I watched your Youtube vid on how to post my logs, so I think I'm making progress.
I will attach the following logs properly to this post.

    Mbam & MGlogs.
I was unable to download the progams from the links you provided in your manual so, I had to search for them myself. (probably due to the virus).
I ran Hitman pro and to my surprise I think I acquired a new virus. When I installed Hitman in did not seem to load properly. I clicked on my homepage to find a solution and was redirected to snapro.com and these popups came up with Geeks.com coupons. I had to change my homepage address again.
I read what you told me to do regarding the roguekiller removal instructions but, when I ran the scan again I could not identify the files that you recommended I delete in the registry folder.
I then went to the files/folder tab and was able to delete the following file:
    [ZeroAccess][File] @ : C:\RECYCLER\S-1-5-18\$d058e1ac1ebe5ed3570dcda2fc6fc2a5\@ [-] --> FOUND
I went back to delete the rest and the other files disappeared?
I also have a new pop up window in my browser that directs me to:

    http://tigzyrk.blogspot.ca/2011/09/rootkit-zeroaccess-max.html

When I went to upload my log files I was redirected here:

    gzt.jsmace.net/sd/wrap-0.01.html?u=http%3A%2F

    Thank you for your help:

    First, uninstall these:
    Delta Chrome Toolbar
    Delta toolbar

Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
NOTE: HJT may popup an error about the AppInit_DLLs line. Ignore it and click OK to continue.

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Now use windows explorer to find ( if they still exist ) and delete these:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\BabSolution
    C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\Application Data\Delta
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Babylon
    C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\BrowserDefender

Reboot and rescan with Hitman ( which should be on your desktop ) as well as RogueKiller and attach those new logs.

Then run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista or Win7, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Attach the new C:\MGLogs.zip

Uninstall the below programs. If you do not find them or they do not uninstall, just keep going.
    BrowserDefender
    Java(TM) 6 Update 20
    Snap.Do
    Super Lyrics

Now install the current version of Sun Java from: Sun Java Runtime Environment Make sure that when you see the form asking about installing Ask Toolbar that you uncheck this.

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista or Win 7, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator). This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://feed.snapdo.com/?publisher=T...ype=ds&q={searchTerms}&installDate=05/09/2013

    O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MSMSGS] "C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe" /background

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Now run this Disable/Remove Windows Messenger to remove Windows Messenger. Do not confuse Windows Messenger with MSN Messenger because they are not the same. Windows Messenger is a frequent cause of popups.

Please download OTM by Old Timer and save it to your Desktop.
    • Run OTM.exe by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, Win7 or Win8, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).
    • Copy the lines from the below codebox to the clipboard by highlighting ALL of them and pressing CTRL + C

      ) and choose Paste.
    • Now click the large http://forums.majorgeeks.com/chaslang/images/MoveIt!.png button.
    • If OTM asks to reboot your computer, allow it to do so. The report should appear in Notepad after the reboot.
    • Close OTM.
Now navigate to the C:\_OTM\MovedFiles folder ( assuming your Windows drive is C). This is where your log will be
saved in the form of Date and Time mmddyyyy_hhmmss.log. Just look for the most recent .log file. Attach
this log file to your next message.

Now please download Junkware Removal Tool to your desktop.
    • Shut down your protection software now to avoid potential conflicts.
    • Run the tool by double-clicking it. If you are using Windows Vista or Seven, right-mouse click it and select Run as Administrator.
    • The tool will open and start scanning your system.
    • Note: That JRT may reset your home page to a google default so you will need to restore your home page setting if this happens.
    • Please be patient as this can take a while to complete depending on your system's specifications.
    • On completion, a log (JRT.txt) is saved to your desktop and will automatically open.
    • Attach JRT.txt to your next message.
Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it (Note: if using Vista, Win7 or Win8, don't double click, use right click and select Run As Administrator).

    Then attach the below logs:
    • the C:\_OTM\MovedFiles log
    • the JRT.TXTlog
    • C:\MGlogs.zip
Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

    Hello,

I have attached 2 out of 3 reports that you asked for. The OTM by Oldtimer locked up my computer twice. It created a report folder without the info. I am running XP, not sure if this makes a difference.
The version of hitman pro I was using had a virus and bundled with snapro & babylon. I did not d/l this from you site, as at the time a virus would not allow me to do so. I have since deleted hitman pro. I also took the liberty to rescan with Malaware bytes and discovered 936 problems including the version of hitman I had previously installed.
Snap.do was giving me grief when I tried to uninstall it, it kept telling me that it is now hidden from my browers. The third time, the uninstall worked fine.
My computer is running better than it ever has thanks to your talented team of experts and I really appreciate this. The google redirect virus that I had originally reported with this post is gone too.:)

    You're welcome. Looks good now.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    7. If you are running Win 8, Win 7, Vista, Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below to flush restore points:
      • Refer to the instructions for your WIndows version in this link: Disable And Enable System Restore
      • What we want you to do is to first disable System Restore to flush restore points some of which could be infected.
