Hi there. My buddy's wife has been web browsing & checking email, etc for some time with no virus protection installed. She was having problems, so I told them I would check it out for them.

    It is a Toshiba Satellite model with W7HP 64 bit w/ Service Pack 1. It has a AMD C-50 1.0GHz processor & 2GB RAM.

I ran through all the steps in the "READ & RUN ME FIRST" thread. The logs are attached here.

Please let me know if I need to do anything else to get this laptop cleaned up. It seems to be running better, but it still takes longer than I'm used to to open apps, folders, etc. I think that is probably just due to the slow processor & only 2GB RAM.

I installed Microsoft Security Essentials, but disabled it during all the scans.

    Thank you! :-D
    Matt

Very lucky. Not seeing any signs of malware at all. You did attach an incorrect log for Malware Bytes though. Did it find anything in the end?

Thank you very much for the super quick response, Kestrel!! You've helped me and my brother before, and have gotten us out of some nasty messes! :)

The only thing mbam found was "freegiez_MineCraft.exe", which it placed into quarantine.

I've attached the other mbam log here, just in case you wanted to see it. mbam saves their logs as .xml files, which I couldn't upload here. So, I opened the xml with notepad, and saved as a .txt.

Do I need to do anything else before I give this back to my buddy tomorrow?

    Thank you!!
    Matt

Hi Matt, as I say, your buddy's wife is lucky. I'm not seeing anything. :)

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware.
    2. Renable your Disk Emulation software with Defogger if you had disabled it in step 4 of the READ & RUN ME.
    3. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis. If you don't see it or it will not uninstall, don't worry about it. Just move on to the next step.
    4. If running Vista, Win 7 or Win 8, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Now goto the C:\MGtools folder and find the MGclean.bat file. Double click ( if running Vista, Win7, or Win 8 Right Click and Run As Administrator ) on this file to run this cleanup program that will remove files and folders related to MGtools and some other items from our cleaning procedures.
    6. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.

    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
