my gateway 7405gx laptop is very slow

    I have tried cleaning out all unnecessary stuff, spy ware removal, virus checks, defrag. All come up clean. Still very slow. any thoughts? Any others with problems for this computer model?

    OK, I have run through the entire process and have not been able to increase the slowness. Here are my specs:

    80GB hard drive 75% empty 512MB ram 2.0Ghz
    I am looking into expanding the ram but can only go to 1G
