my internets!

first, a bit of backround:
okay, so a little while back i had some major malware problems and such, and i downloaded the trial of norton anti-virus. well, that totally screwed up my comp as much as possible, to the point of where i could not open anything, and i was only able to turn on/off my computer. then i put my comp in safe mode w/ networking (that was the only way to actually do anything) and i had to download all the files in the READ & RUN THIS onto my laptop, onto a flash drive, then over to this computer. i did the full cleaning process, and thank god my computer was working again!

now here's the hitch: i use mozilla. after the cleaning, i set it as my default web browser. now my internet explorer won't work; my EVE in-game browser won't work, yet eve itself will connect and work, as will COD4; my other MMO's won't connect (free ones such as CABAL Online, Flyff, which need to download updates before starting) so they won't work; and the iTunes store won't work.

as you can tell, mozilla works just fine, and like i said, i can play COD4 and EVE. but that's it. i don't know if it's computer settings or something else, and i've put those games and programs on my firewall and anti-virus exception lists, but that doesn't seem to be the problem either.

if this is a simple problem to fix, or complex me, please please please tell me how to fix it, and any help is welcome.

Good to hear you did the full cleaning process using the Read and Run Me First thread. Go ahead and attach all the logs requested in that thread so our Authorized Malware Fighters can take a look and make sure everything looks clean and in the right place. It could be you still have some lingering issues.
