My Laptop Once Again Reverted To Bitlocker Recovery

I have a Dell Lattitude 3510 it is windows 11 with 12 gigs.

Hi all I got this laptop from my mom about six months ago. The strange this was it had Bitlocker pop up on the screen and I had to fix it.. It has been working fine and now the other problem is when I shut the lid down it was suppose to go in sleep mode but it has not been doing that and I tried to fix it. Well I went to go visit my mom in another state and forgot to turn off the pc so even when the lid was down the battery died and now Bitlocker is back. How in the world do I fix these two issues. Yikes!

If no Bitlocker key or reasonably recent disk image you will have to perform a clean install. You will have to use another working system for this.

I have the Bitlocker key from it happening before. The problem is when I shut the lid the laptop does not and it eats the batter to bring it back to Bitlocker. I need help on how to be able to shut the lid and the computer sleeps or hibernates ect

 

Hi. Didn't get notified you had replied so unaware until just now. You normally set your power options, which include what to do when you close the lid, in Power Options in Control Panel though in Win 11 you can also set them in Settings > System > Power and Battery. Have you already tried either of those?

 

Hi and thanks for your response. Yes I have done so many things I could not tell you. I have played with the power options and went online like youtube to find a solution. I finally just said shut down when closing the lid and will see if at least that works.

 

I like to see that it has done what it's supposed to do so I put it to sleep or hibernate via the power button before shutting the lid.

 

It works to shut off when the lid is down. How do we get it to sleep? Hummm

 

So aren't you able to set it to sleep with the power button?
